On occasion, the information you give us when you download materials or join The Less Doing® Program may imply information about your beliefs, political views, personal and/or professional life; health conditions; or your sexual identity. This, and other kinds of sensitive information, is given special protection. Posting personal or sensitive information about yourself or others is against our commitment to you to ensure your information is kept secured and confidential.

Some information, such as name, company, and contact information, will be visible to other members of that Less Doing® group/series. We find it helpful to have access to the email addresses of organizers and other members of groups within their workshop series to easily communicate with. Therefore, we ask that if you do not want to share your contact information your group, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
We may use service providers in connection with operating and improving the Platform to assist with certain functions, such as payment processing, email transmission, conducting surveys or contests, data hosting, managing our ads, and some aspects of our technical and customer support. We take measures to ensure that these service providers access, process, and store information about you only for the purposes we authorize, subject to confidentiality obligations.
We may access, preserve, and disclose information about you to third parties, including the content of messages, if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, applicable law, regulation, legal process, or audits. We may also disclose information about you if we believe that your actions are inconsistent with our Terms of Service or related guidelines and policies, or if necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of, or prevent fraud or abuse of, Less Doing® or others.
If Less Doing® is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of our assets, information about you may be shared, sold, or transferred as part of that transaction. We may also share information about you with current or future corporate parents, subsidiaries, or affiliates.
Given that the internet is a global environment, using the internet to collect and process personal data necessarily involves the transmission of data on an international basis. Personal information may be stored in servers hosted in countries outside Canada, including the United States. As such, your personal information may be subject to the laws of other countries, including the United States, where the data protection and other laws may not be as comprehensive as those in Canada. Personal information may be disclosed in response to inquiries or requests from government authorities in the United States or other countries in which we operate. Therefore, by browsing our website and communicating electronically with us, you acknowledge and agree to our processing of personal data in this way.
We employ technical and organizational measures designed to appropriately protect your information that is under our control and that we process on your behalf from unauthorized access collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, or disposal, both during transmission and once we receive it. We store all information that you provide to us on secure servers. We train employees regarding our data privacy policies and procedures, and permit authorized employees to access information on a need-to-know basis, as required for their role. Where you have a password, which enables you to use our services, you are responsible for keeping this password complex, secure, and confidential. If you would like to update or change your password, you may select the “Forgot your password?” link on the login page. You will be sent an email that allows you to reset your password.
Less Doing® takes all feasible and reasonable precautions to protect the personal information that we collect from you. Every staff member must sign a Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement wherein he/she agrees not to improperly use and/or disclose any personal information about clients or other individuals who have contacted Less Doing®. Also, your personal information is retained in a secure database, which is only accessible by password and is protected by the use of firewalls.
We retain certain information that we collect from you while you are a participant in The Less Doing® Program and on our website, and in certain cases where you have deleted your account, for the following reasons:
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your information, we will either delete or anonymize it. We retain personal information collected from you when you request information, register an account, apply for a workshop, and/or order a product online for a period of 15 years thereafter.
Less Doing® is directly responsible for complying with all requirements of applicable EU privacy laws in connection with the information that we obtain and process for the purposes of managing our contacts, or organizing groups, or administering networks.
Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over those other websites. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information that you provide while visiting such sites, and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.
We will maintain your personal information in a secure database. We do not use the information in the database for any purposes other than facilitating your future orders, or to permit us to notify you of products, services, workshops, and features offered by Less Doing®. We do not store your credit card numbers or expiry dates in our database. Consequently, each time you choose to purchase an item, your name and shipping address will be pulled from the database, but you will have to re-enter your credit card information to complete the order.
Less Doing® does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer the personal information you provide to us to third parties. We may allow authorized third-party service providers access to your personal information to perform services on our behalf. Our service providers are required to provide privacy protection comparable to ours and to limit their use of such information to providing services on our behalf. These service providers may be in another country, such as the United States, and the personal information may be subject to disclosure in accordance with the applicable laws of that jurisdiction, which may create a different privacy regime from your country of residence.
You may update, deactivate, or correct your account information by sending a request to email@example.com as described in Section 6. You will also be able to choose what information others see about you and who may contact you by using the Privacy Settings section in your Account.
If you do not wish to receive communications from Less Doing®, you can opt out of receiving such communications by either following the instructions in each such communication or by contacting the Less Doing® Privacy Office (email address below) at any time. It may take up to ten days to process a request received by email or telephone, and six to eight weeks to process a request received by mail. Our website uses per-session cookies, which are commonly used tools to facilitate the exchange of information between your browser and our server.
